Welcome!

Hi! I’m Aveline Xiaoyuan Han, I am a first year P.hD. candidate in School of Computing and Data Science, at The University of Hong Kong, co-supervised by Professor Chenshu Wu and Chuan Wu. My research focuses on Wireless Sensing, IoT Camera and Edge Computing. Before my Ph.D., I received my B.Eng. degree from HKU with First Class Honours.

Awards

Aug 2025 – Won Gold Award and ALIBABA Cloud Most Scalable AI Solution Award at the Global AI Challenge for Building E&M Facilities 2025 with AIoT team.
Apr 2025 – Awarded Hong Kong PhD Fellowship Scheme (HKPFS) by the Research Grants Council (RGC) of Hong Kong.
Aug 2024 – Awarded conditional offer of the HKU Presidential PhD Scholarship (HKUPS) by HKU Graduate School.
Feb 2024 - Awarded Reaching Out Award (ROA) Scholarship by HKSAR Government and Exchange Scholarship by HKU.
Mar 2023 - Nominated for the Lead for Life Character Leadership Scholarship.

Aug 2025 - Attended the Cornell, Maryland, Max Planck Pre-doctoral Research School in Computer Science (CMMRS 2025) at Saarbrücken, Germany with full funding. It was an amazing experience connecting with researchers and professors from around the world!
Jun 2025 - Graduated from HKU with First Class Honours.
Jun 2024 - Joined HKU Summer Research Programme working on deep learning-enhanced indoor localization with Professor Chenshu Wu.
Jan 2024 - Started my exchange at The University of California, Santa Cruz.
Sept 2023 - Joined Ararat Plain Southeast Archaeological Project (APSAP) focusing on VR digital reconstruction with Professor Peter J. Cobb and Ms. Wuyan Yao.
